At first glance, it is just a name change, but in fact it fits into a broader strategy to connect Google&#039;s individual AI services into a single ecosystem.<\/p><p>If <a href=\"https:\/\/notebooklm.google\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NotebookLM<\/strong><\/a> you use, you don&#039;t have to worry. You won&#039;t lose your notes and the way you work remains the same. You&#039;ll just gradually see better integration with the Gemini app and AI mode in Google Search.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-09bba8a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"09bba8a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>What is actually changing?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-575c7eb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"575c7eb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Gemini Laptop<\/strong> remains a standalone application focused on working with your own documents.<\/p><p><strong>But now it is more interconnected<\/strong> with Google&#039;s other AI services. It is already possible to sync notes between Gemini and Gemini Notebook, and Google is gradually preparing the same connection for AI mode in Search. <strong>This will make it easier to follow up on work in progress.<\/strong> no matter where you&#039;re starting from.<\/p><p>Another novelty is <strong>expanding data analysis capabilities<\/strong>. Gemini Notebook can leverage a secure cloud environment to run code, which <strong>opens the way to more advanced analyses or graphing<\/strong> and other outputs directly from your documents. However, this feature is being introduced gradually depending on the subscription type.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1040a6b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1040a6b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Gemini or Gemini Notebook?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-473b0fb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"473b0fb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I come across this question very often in trainings. Both tools use the same AI, but each solves a slightly different problem.<\/p><p><strong>Use Gemini when you need to:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>write an email or article<\/li><li>create a presentation design<\/li><li>translate text<\/li><li>to program<\/li><li>brainstorm ideas<\/li><li>search for general information<\/li><\/ul><p>It is a universal AI assistant for everyday work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ccb760 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"5ccb760\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9ef50c4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9ef50c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Use Gemini Notebook when working with your own materials:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>you need to summarize a long PDF<\/li><li>you analyze company documentation<\/li><li>you are comparing multiple documents<\/li><li>you are preparing study materials<\/li><li>you want answers backed up by specific sources<\/li><\/ul><p>This is where its greatest strength lies: the answers are not based primarily on general knowledge of the model, but on the documents you upload to it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3bb9f79 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3bb9f79\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>What can you take away from this?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-99896d7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"99896d7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Renaming<\/strong> on the Gemini Notebook itself<strong> nothing fundamental changes<\/strong>. Much more important is the direction Google is taking.<\/p><p><strong>Instead of several separate AI tools, a connected environment is created<\/strong>, where you can move between searching, chatting with AI, and working on your own documents without unnecessary switching.<\/p><p>If you haven&#039;t tried NotebookLM yet, now is the time <strong>working with your own documents<\/strong> is, in my opinion, one of the most practical ways to use AI today.
